Founding Members of the Church
There were twenty-seven charter members, nineteen of whom came out of the First Church. The charter members (one name is missing) and officers of the church were:
- Mrs. Elizabeth Bush
- Dr. L. Y. Green, a physician who had ministered to the soldiers during the War, and to all during the Yellow Fever Epidemic, CHARTER ELDER
- Mrs. Carrie M. Green, his wife;
- Frank H. Caldwell, one time Mayor of Lookout Mountain, CHARTER ELDER
- Mrs. M. Ella Caldwell, his wife;
- Filmore Gibson, who married Dr. Green's daughter, CHARTER DEACON
- Mrs. Carrie Green Gibson, his wife;
- W. C. Griffith, a contractor, CHARTER DEACON
- Miss Agnes Hamilton
- John A. Hooke, son of Judge Robert Hooke who was a founder of First Presbyterian Church;
- Mrs. Anna G. Hooke, his wife,
- Miss Mary P. Hooke, a daughter of Judge Hooke
- Miss Josephine Hooke, a daughter of Judge Hooke
- Miss Alice Lillian Hooke, a daughter of Judge Hooke
- Miss Callie Mayberry
- Robert Morrison, first Mayor of Lookout Mountain
- Putnam Morrison, his son, who moved to Vicksburg, Miss.
- Dr. A. A. Nefe, the family doctor whodelivered most of the babies born on the Mountain, CHARTER ELDER
- Mrs. Ella Nefe, his wife
- Miss Agnes Putnam, a school teacher
- Mrs. Lizzie Robinson
- Morris Temple, first new Deacon and eventually Elder Emeritus
- Lewis P, Thatcher, father of Mrs. James Glascock, CHARTER ELDER;
- Mrs. Edna C. Thatcher, his wife;
- Frank Whiteside, who moved away years ago CHARTER DEACON
